New Hampshire State Inspection Practice Test

The correct answer is amber because in New Hampshire, the law specifies that private snow removal vehicles must display amber warning lights when they are operating on roadways. These lights serve to alert other drivers to the presence of the snow removal vehicle, enhancing visibility and safety, especially in hazardous winter conditions. Amber lights are generally used by service vehicles like snowplows to indicate caution rather than emergency situations, which differentiates them from the use of red lights typically associated with emergency vehicles.

The other colors mentioned, such as red and white/clear, blue, and green, are designated for specific types of vehicles or uses that do not apply to snow removal. Red and white lights are generally reserved for emergency response vehicles, while blue lights are used by law enforcement. Green lights may be utilized by volunteer emergency workers but do not apply to snow removal operations. This distinction ensures that all drivers are aware of the type of vehicle approaching them and can react accordingly.
